About Us

Warith International Cancer Institute (WICI) was established under the patronage of the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine and its legal custodian (Sheikh Abdul Mahdi Al-Karbalai) under the umbrella of the Health and Medical Education Authority. The institution was created to provide distinguished, non-profit, and high-quality diagnostic and treatment services for all cancer patients from the Iraqi population. Additionally, it aims to establish a research and study center on cancer within the hospital.
Warith International Cancer Institute (WICI) was established in 2021 with the support of the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine, aiming to enhance medical care in Iraq. Warith Institute (WICI) stands out by offering free treatment services for children under 15 years.
WICI is in Karbala Governorate and spans 30,000 square meters. The institution comprises four main buildings. The first building is dedicated to diagnostic and therapeutic hospital departments, housing over one hundred beds. The second building is designated for the radioisotope therapy center, with isolation rooms for patients during treatment, and features a unique design resembling a hotel room to address the psychological needs of patients. The third and fourth buildings are specialized for doctors and nurses, as well as administrative offices.
